Killarney is known as the gateway to the Southwest and it is the perfect base to enjoy all the pleasures of such a naturally beautiful place. The wild and rugged terrain that is Kerry has been enjoyed for its natural beauty for centuries. Here is a sample of the abundance of pursuits on offer close to Killarney Manor House.


    Golf is synonymous with Ireland as its coastal rolling sand dunes and coarse grass makes for some of the world’s most renowned links courses not to mention its Parkland courses. One cannot visit Ireland for a golf holiday without visiting Kerry. The Region is famous for its courses and has long since attracted Golfers from around the world and Killarney is the ideal base.


    Waterville, Ballybunion and Tralee are world-class courses as well as Killarney Golf & Fishing Club, which was host to the Irish Open in 2010 & 2011.  These are only a selection of courses to be found in the region and indeed the famous Old Head of Kinsale course is also only a short drive away. Each course offers its own unique challenge and their beauty will leave lasting memories.

    With 25,000 acres of National Park to explore on the doorstep one can choose a different walk each day without ever retracing their steps. We are happy to assist you with the booking of a walking guide or just maps and recommendations during your stay. 

    For the Hiking enthusiasts we are also located in the foothills of the highest mountain range in Ireland, the McGillycuddy Reeks including Corrán Tuathail. Again, we can give you any information or alternatively arrange for a guide.

    There are a myriad of paths and trails throughout Killarney National Park and hinterland to choose from. All the nature trails are easily accessible and suit all abilities. These include Monks Wood, Lovers Walk, Friars Walk, Muckross Abbey, Blue Pool Walk, Arthur Vincent Nature Trail and Mossy Woods Walk to name a few.  Maps directions and information can be provided regarding any of these.


    This is a truly Killarney experience. Visit the sites of the park on horse drawn carriage while being regaled by fact and fable by your driver.  


    One cannot fail to stumble across a Bike Hire company in Killarney as they are on every corner.  Arrangements can be made for hourly hire to weekly hire and you can even return your bike at a different location in Kerry. A bike trip through the national park is an ideal way to enjoy it or indeed if a challenge is what you prefer Kerry is a haven for cyclists with its countless miles of mountainous terrain which descend into lush valleys and its meandering coastal roads.
