Fantastic House, lovely owner. Highly recommended

Woodlawn Rd, Killarney, Kerry, No code, Ireland

We arrived outwith the usual change over days for a 9 night stay and have to thank the owner for the wonderful understanding and patience she had whilst we re- arranged the booking to suit. Over the course of the 9 days a total of 35 of us came and went in this wonderful house. On arrival, The owner had baked us soda bread and left us a starter basket filled with lovely goodies. It was a lovely touch and the soda bread lasted 5 minutes!!! It has everything you need to cater for large parties and everything in the house from the bed sheets to the cutlery is of the very highest standard. If you have children the pool room is a God send if you are the cook, the cooking/dining facilities are a God send too. It is conveniently close to the centre for the nightlife but is far enough away to be quiet and off the road. This truly is a fabulous house and we are delighted to be returning next year!!! I cannot recommend this property highly enough. Total value for money.

Perfect Family Vacation Home

Woodlawn Rd, Killarney, Kerry, No code, Ireland

Just a perfect stay for our family of 10; ranging from 7-72! The Home is gorgeous! Big enough we all had our own space, but loved the game room with pool table and chess, where we could all hang out! We had Robert come each day to make us Irish Breakfast(Catriona set it up per request-so awesome) , it was my Dads favorite part of the entire trip; especially with Mary our waitress; she had great recommendations and great cheer each morning! They really set our fun tone for the whole day! This home is private but close enough to everything; you could walk into town, but with five kids and Dad with a wheelchair we drove! This home is exceptional and if you have a big group or family; stay here!

WE WERE A FAMILY GROUP OF 12, arriving from Dallas, Texas; Aspen, Colorado; and Arlington, Virginia. This was a 50th anniversary trip for my husband and me, and our group ranged in age from 6 to 70. The location of this large eight bedroom house is OUTSTANDING - even with two replaced knees I was able to walk to the town centre. All bedrooms have en suite baths. Catriona (we would pronounced this Katrina in the US) was on site to great us and had a fire glowing in the fireplace. There was a large basket of snacks and a fresh round of Irish soda bread laid out on the kitchen table. All the makings for breakfast the next morning was thoughtfully provided. We had a beautiful fresh lilly flower arrangement but I cannot guarantee that as it was after all a anniversary trip. She introduced us to the house and after that, she was available by phone to answer questions or assist with arrangements but was otherwise unobtrusive. She is also responsive to emails about arrangements prior to arrival. Midweek towel service which was nice. They are serious recyclers and some of us probably made a few mistakes on sorting. There is a dishwasher and washer and dryer. Informal eating in the kitchen and a large dining table which accommodates 16 seated people in the dining room. The Valentine House in Killarney was a great base for the activities of the week. Smart move: goggle Gerard Scott Ireland and it will lead you on how to contact Gerard. He arranged airport pick up and delivery drivers from the Shannon Airport. The last thing I wanted to do after a long flight was get in a car with a tired driver and drive on the opposite side of what a US citizen is accustomed to doing. Not only that, he was our tour guide for two complete days - we toured the Ring of Kerry and Dingle - both I highly recommend. He is a wonderful storyteller and also has a beautiful singing voice - both of which are available on his bus tours. He is the guide and there is also a driver. He did not have exactly the right size bus for us so we just rented the 24 passenger bus for the 12 of us and he customized the trip around our interests. Favorite night: a catered dinner arranged by our children. Irish stew, salmon, vegetables, and a wedding cake. More fresh flowers in the dining room and paper lanterns hung from the chandeliers. The doorbell rang announcing the arrival of a 5 piece family band. PERFECT!!!!
